These strips arrive fully pre-assembled so there is no manual threading of wires into bases before installation. Each spike section uses 304 stainless steel wires set to a height of 4 inches (100mm) and a spread of 3 inches (76mm), arranged in groups of 6 needles pointing both horizontally and vertically across 360 degrees.

The metal base and wires withstand windstorms and blizzards without degrading. Designed to imitate natural thorn structures, the wire clusters keep pigeons and other birds from nesting, perching, or leaving droppings along standard 4-inch wide window sills, roofs, gutters, balconies, and fences.
